First published in 1980, The Practice of Everyday Life by Michel de Certeau explores the ways in which we appropriate and personalise mass culture as we go about our daily lives—it was from this book that we took the name of our studio back in 2003. This set of prints is our first project based on directly on the ideas within The Practice for Everyday Life. We selected key passages within the text, outlining ideas that resonate with our own practice and way of thinking, and used these excerpts to create a series of typographic images. These playful arrangements inform and embellish de Certeau’s ideas, adding an additional layer of meaning.
